Intuitive Eating Principle 2: Honor Your Hunger

What It Means:

“Keep your body biologically fed with adequate energy and carbohydrates. Otherwise, you can trigger a primal drive to overeat. Once you reach the moment of excessive hunger, all intentions of moderate, conscious eating are fleeting and irrelevant. Learning to honor this first biological signal sets the stage for rebuilding trust in yourself and in food.”

I will be honest, this was hard for me in the past.

It was very easy for me to get swept up in what I was doing and forget to eat! Hyper fixation at its finest.

OR I would fail to have food available and I then…would not eat.

Not on purpose but because I was just not noticing my body cues, and I was too ‘lazy’ to make a meal.

If you are coming off of restrictive diets and the cycle and harm of dieting, your body does NOT know its natural hunger cues yet.

This principle is important to work on with a professional(🙋🏽‍♀️)
to really understand what natural cues feel like in your body.
